Artist's Comments

The model is Cassie. A wanna be glamour star. She's kinda alternative (tats and such)... but overall classically attactive. She made a lot of faces and we had a lot of fun. I think she could be a good glamour model - and she's coming back to the studios in a few weeks to work some more on it - with and myself )).

I finally got around to finishing the editing of her stuff. I will post a few for your consideration.

You won't get to see the tears I cried, behind these blue eyes.

Wow. Great pose, great light, great composition. I bow in your general direction.

I might have tried to fix that schmutz in her left eye, and maybe cleaned up her skin a bit, but that's quibbling.

I think, perhaps, what strikes me most about this image is less the model or the pose, but rather the color (once more, I'm stuck on this). The strong ties between her clothing, hair (highlights and all), and background create a smooth composition of browns and blacks.

Interestingly enough, I find that the top left and her hair almost blend together (the semi vertical lines of alternating light and dark) and immediately draw the eye and move it down toward the solid black and brown of her shirt and pants. From there, the eye is swept across her knees because of the strong, unsettingly diagonal her arm creates. Hmm. All the lights (or most of them) are on top, and the rest are on the bottom—is the image balanced? I am unsure; the diagonal creates instant motion (but in a solid, unchanging color), while the "stripes" almost add stability when I think they should be the "unsettling" part of the image.

Cool though. =D

I didn't hear what you said,
Because there's too many tunes going round in my head

Well. The lighting does the trick in this piece. a very soft feeling, and a great model. Pose looks very natural, as does the expression. She looks like a lovely girl, am going to pick through your gallery some more.

What a great portrait.
