Artist's Comments

From my recent trip to the big apple...

I met up with this girl I had been talking with about coming up and hanging out and maybe shooting. She was supposed to come out to me (on her way to visit some friends at UMASS), but things never work out quite as planned. As it turned out - a day or so after she cancelled, I ended up booking a trip out to New York anyway - so it all worked out...just not as planned.

Jackie and I had been speaking online, by email, and by phone - almost every day for two weeks straight. Hours and Hours and Hours and Hours of communication. And up to this point, Jackie embodied everything I could possibly want in a companion. My heart actually was going pitter pat... She's an artist. She's intelligent. She's cultured. She's adorable. She doesn't mind long distance relationships... Of course...I know that because she's in one now. Oh well.

This series is entitled "personal series" because well... its personal to me, and I think that it really embodies some of the feelings that I was feeling for her.

While I may not have won the heart of Jackie, at least I have these photos...

Jack..nice. You know what helps make this photo stand out? Something I do on another art site i'm on is tell the story behind the drawing/photo. It endears the viewer to the shot. I look at this photo, different than I do your other work, this one carries much more emotion with it to me....and you, so I look at it in a different set of values. This one cares....that passion of you behind the camera!!

I like this shot. You really get a sense of her subtle beauty.

Always open to working w/ adventurous subjects (particularly if you're in Northern NY) who are brave enough to be in front of my camera. Interested? :devart: note me at your leisure & maybe we can figure something out.

This is an ideal portrait. Beautifully composed -- subject centered but not boring -- excellent pose, great facial expression. Razor sharp, and I know I'm good at appreciating that. Wonderful tonal rendition and color. The 1DmkII has always been phenomenal at that.

In this picture she looks sort of my friend Jen, I guess its just the way she smiles and her hair.

This is by far my favorite of your series...I think it's way cool that you're willing to admit you've got feelings for this girl. She's cute, and I'm sure she's an awesome girl...

Cheeky, human and adorable. Love the hidden eye and messy hair. The shot ends up really pretty, feels like something's really going on here. Get back to NY soon. +fav
