Artist's Comments

From my recent trip to the big apple...

I met up with this girl I had been talking with about coming up and hanging out and maybe shooting. She was supposed to come out to me (on her way to visit some friends at UMASS), but things never work out quite as planned. As it turned out - a day or so after she cancelled, I ended up booking a trip out to New York anyway - so it all worked out...just not as planned.

Jackie and I had been speaking online, by email, and by phone - almost every day for two weeks straight. Hours and Hours and Hours and Hours of communication. And up to this point, Jackie embodied everything I could possibly want in a companion. My heart actually was going pitter pat... She's an artist. She's intelligent. She's cultured. She's adorable. She doesn't mind long distance relationships... Of course...I know that because she's in one now. Oh well.

This series is entitled "personal series" because well... its personal to me, and I think that it really embodies some of the feelings that I was feeling for her.

While I may not have won the heart of Jackie, at least I have these photos...

Sometimes you can win. Sometimes you can't. Unfortunately, it seems like as a photographer, every time you don't, you're cursed to receive these bittersweet photographs as a consolation prize.

I like this. Well-framed, excellent portrait. Only complaint would be that the arm in the foreground, especially around the elbow, is a little fuzzy, and it makes the shot a little squinty.

Very nice colors.

Really nice story man, even though things didn't work out maybe as you'd wished; at least you have made a new friend. This series of pictures has made me realise again, how much a narrative element behind the picture can completely change a persons view on a picture. Great job man, definate favourite.

This series is so great . . . I like the atmosphere in the first, the second with you two is so cute and I :heart: black and white . . . but this one is probably my favorite, the colors and arrangement is just so cute! =D She's very innocent looking and cute ... You never know ... something could work out someday. I hope you guys have a great friendship in the meantime, you seem to enjoy each other's company! :aww: ^^;
